Diversity Lab

Diversity Lab was a consultancy based in San Francisco, California, dedicated to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal sector. Founded in 2013 by Caren Ulrich Stacy, the organization collaborated with law firms and legal departments globally to develop and implement initiatives aimed at creating fairer and more inclusive workplaces. Utilizing data, behavioral science, and design thinking, Diversity Lab designed and piloted various programs, including the OnRamp Fellowship, which became the largest re-entry program for lawyers returning after extended career breaks. Other notable initiatives included the Mansfield Certification, the Move the Needle Fund, and the Inclusion Blueprint. Despite its impactful work, Diversity Lab ceased operations in June 2026 following legal challenges from the Federal Trade Commission.
