AfricanLII is a Pan-African open-access research platform dedicated to providing free access to legal information from various African countries. It serves as an information clearinghouse on all aspects of the African Governance Architecture (AGA) agenda, including charters, protocols, communications, relevant legal decisions, policy, implementation, monitoring, and related material. The platform aims to build effective collaboration between African citizens, civil society organizations, and AGA members to strengthen the implementation of the AGA platform’s agenda concerning democracy, governance, and human rights.

- Aggregates legal information from 16 African countries and the African Union. - Provides access to case law, legislation, African Union documents, journals, books, and other materials. - Offers a Pan-African legal search engine for comprehensive research. - Supports offline access through the Pocket Law USB device, enabling users to search for cases and legislation without an internet connection. - Collaborates with regional and international Legal Information Institutes (LIIs) to promote free access to law in Africa.
